There you are my fellow gardening enthusiast! My name is Michelle Whyte. I am from North Dakota – one of the farming powerhouse states in the United States. Gardening has always been a part of me from an early age. I belong to a family of ardent farmers. Actually, my parents and their parents before them relied solely on farming to make a living.
It’s a Passion
I fell in love with gardening at the age of 15. This was after I discovered how fulfilling it was to put some seeds in the ground and have them sprout into life. It almost felt like I was part of a something remarkable – a co-creator.
I started my vegetable garden, and with the help of my family, I learned the basics. This was exciting, but I would learn the hard way when the garden proved a challenge in itself. There were pests to deal with, the weather, fertilizer, diseases and other things.
Oh, the headaches!
My little garden was in poor shape, and some of the vegetables didn’t make it. Despite coming from the Midwest and a farming family, I needed a hand.
Get Online Help Right?
I soon discovered that there was very little on the internet that could specifically address the challenges gardeners face.
The majority of the sites are not what you would call reliable. As you would guess, it was hard pinning down one website with adequate information. Much of what I found were general gardening sites with insufficient details. They were of no help to me as I already knew the majority of it. Others dealt with specialist areas targeting a section of the farmers. There was very little to help this young farmer girl succeed in her new found love.
So long story short, I decided to launch my website.
My farming experience and knowledge is completely at your disposal. I hope that this blog will provide budding gardeners with the nitty-gritty of agriculture in an entertaining and easy-to-read format. I believe that the information contained on this site will also help seasoned farmers tackle any challenges they face adequately.
From time to time I may have some of my other family colleagues and friends pitch in and contribute too (so look out for articles from all of us).
Feel Free to Share Your Ideas
While I have attempted to cover the most important information that gardeners at any level may require, you may have some questions of your own.
Should you feel that there is specific information we should include, then don’t shy away from dropping us a line. As always, my primary goal is to offer a hand to gardeners so that they can find true fulfillment and joy as I did.
I also update the site on a regular basis consistent with the changing needs and farming technology to offer you the most relevant information.
So that’s pretty much a quick introduction to me. I’d love to get to know you. Drop a warm message in the comment box below and let’s conenct!
