We are very fortunate that Annbank Angling Association have generously given us 2 permits to fish the river Ayr which runs through the gardens at Auchincruive. The riverbank is easily accessible from the garden.
The veterans derive a lot of peace and pleasure from fishing in the safety of Auchincruive. But now as the fishing season is now closed on the river until March and the fishing proving very popular amongst our veterans we now have our Fishing Co-ordinator Jamie Murray now in place, Jamie has developed a winter program to keep the veterans busy with fishing. This consists of regular day trips to Dalvennan and Tarbolton fisheries, and Fly Tie classes which are held in the grounds of Auchincruive. It dosnt matter if your have never been fishing before you will be taught all the basics of what you need to know to make that first catch from the knowledge and experience of Jamie and even the other veterans are happy to help out!
