We did it again!

Saltire garden being built
Our show garden at this year’s Ayr Flower Show won a silver Medal and the Provost’s Cup - a lot of hard work but as you can see from the pictures, the result was a fantastic garden which was admired by everyone who saw it.

Complete Saltire garden
A Big, big thank-you to everyone who helped create it - from the original design concept, to the last sprig of heather and bag of gravel - the best Saltire Garden Ever!
The week after we had finished clearing up following the Flower Show, 18 soldiers from A Company The Royal Highland Fusiliers came to Auchincruive to help us clear the border in front of the Stovehouse in readiness for the glaziers who will need access to start removing all the glass, before the cover goes on to protect the timbers while they are drying out.

A Company RHF plus dogs
Although it rained for most of the day, the border got done and judging by the comments in the Visitors Book, our guests had a good time and we hope they will come back again when their busy schedule allows, to follow the progress of the Stovehouse Repair Project.
Pamela has had a well-earned break and we have been tidying up the poppy collection, the greenhouses, tool shed and kitchen garden in her absence as the summer fades, and we start thinking about planting bulbs for Spring, feeding the Brussels sprouts and emptying last year’s compost heap onto the veg beds - never a dull moment!
Happy days,
Anna BC.
